Frequently Asked Questions
What is LCS Custom Comfort?
LCS Custom Comfort combines the Tri-Chair Three with the LCS Moulding Approach to create a comfort chair with custom moulded seating tailored to the individual’s postural needs. LCS captures the user’s unique body shape and uses CNC technology to create a corresponding foam seating system.
Who is Custom Comfort suitable for?
Custom Comfort is designed for users who require a high degree of postural support and pressure care management. It can be particularly suitable for people with complex sitting postures, spinal deformities such as scoliosis, kyphosis or lordosis, contractures, and acquired or progressive physical disabilities.
How is the Custom Comfort seating made?
A member of the LCS clinical team captures the individual’s unique shape, which is then used to create a custom foam seating system using CNC technology. The foam can be made water resistant, with pressure relief incorporated where required and a custom cover made to fit the resulting surface shape.
Does Custom Comfort provide pressure care support?
Yes. Custom Comfort is designed for users who require a high level of pressure care management. The custom moulded seating can incorporate pressure relief according to the individual’s requirements, helping provide more appropriate support and pressure distribution.
What adjustments are available on the Custom Comfort chair?
The Tri-Chair Three configuration provides 37° of tilt-in-space, from -5° to 32°, along with 40° of back recline, 40° of leg rest elevation and 120 mm of headrest adjustment. These adjustments allow the chair to be configured to provide individual positioning and support.
Where can the Custom Comfort chair be used?
Custom Comfort is suitable for a range of environments, including nursing and residential homes, hospitals, hospices, specialist treatment facilities and domestic homes. Its lightweight design, directional-lock castors and compatibility with most hoists and stand aids also support practical use in care environments.
