This one-day course offers clinicians an interactive, hands-on learning experience focused on powered wheelchair prescription, programming, and alternative access methods. Through case studies and applied practice, participants will explore access hierarchies, advanced control systems, and evidence-informed approaches to optimise mobility outcomes.

Learning Outcomes –

By the end of this session participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the principles of powered wheelchair programming and customization.
  2. Adjust drive parameters to optimize safety and performance.
  3. Identify when alternative access methods are required.
  4. Select appropriate control systems based on user ability and clinical presentation.
  5. Demonstrate hands-on experience with specialist control interfaces.
  6. Apply structured assessment principles for powered mobility provision.
